The idea of creating a calendar with my photos came from the question of how to financially support a street children project.
In 2010 I presented my first calendar and I was very pleased about the positive feedback.
Since then, friends, colleagues and other interested people have encouraged me every year to create a new Ghana calendar. This enabled me to support the street children’s project „Chance for Children“ from sales proceeds. Since 2015 the Sakumono School in Tema near Accra benefits from the proceeds.
Through a friend who lives in Accra it is possible to buy school supplies such as books, notebooks, pens but also musical instruments and balls for physical education and much more at local retailers.
Thanks to the sales proceeds it was also possible to equip every classroom with clean drinking water.
Fabrics for school uniforms are bought at the Makola market and Ghanaian dressmakers were contracted for the sewing works.
In the past two years the money was used to secure the schoolyard so that it will withstand the monsoon rains.
The new calendar 2020 can now be ordered. It comes in A3 format at a price of € 20,00. I would like to thank all of you who continue to support my work.
